That does sound a bit much for someone who’s played 18 Premier League games and 44 Championship games in his whole career. He’s 27 so still has many years left in him as a goalkeeper, but probably won’t have much resale value in a couple of years.
Still, it’s absolutely essential we sign a permanent first choice keeper. If the £3m includes payments based on appearances and promotion it will be well worthwhile.
